Overview
A memorable vacation awaits you at Barney, a six-bedroom, semi-oceanfront retreat in Southern Shores. Decorated with traditional New England touches such as cedar shake siding and a light gray metal roof, Barney offers a winning combination of style, comfort, and top-notch amenities. With nearly 5,000 square feet of finished living space, this spectacular home features an elevator (which travels all the way to the oceanview rooftop deck!), electric car charging station, home theater with tiered seating, rec room with pool table and wet bar, and home gym with a Peloton. Outdoor amenities include a private concrete pool with a sun ledge, relaxing hot tub on the rooftop deck, outdoor cabana kitchen and bar area with a 60" outdoor TV, and an enclosed outdoor shower. Each room has an en suite bath for privacy and relaxation, and the open, oceanview great room incorporates the living area, dining room, and well-equipped kitchen.
Just steps (quite literally, only a few steps) to the beach access that takes you out onto the stunning beaches of Southern Shores, the location can't be beat. Treat yourself to a vacation at Barney, and enjoy a trip to the Outer Banks that your family will never forget!
Updates for 2026: Outdoor improvements including cabana bar renovation with a new mini-fridge, new outside speakers, addition of landscape accent lighting, and a new motor and cover for the hot tub. Great room improvements including new larger sofa, new area rug, and new coffee table. All bedrooms have new fitted carpet.
Pool: Pool heated by propane. Max pool temp is 85 degrees.
EV Charger: An EV charger is available for free for guest use.
Neighborhood & Community: Sea Oats Park offers a playground, soccer field, basketball court, and picnic area. The Soundview Park on N. Dogwood Trail provides panoramic water views, a children's playground, a kayak launch, and more that makes it a great spot for a picnic or family outing. All of our Southern Shores homeowners are members of the SSCA Tennis Club, so you will receive an access code to the Hillcrest Tennis Courts, located just past the corner of Hillcrest Drive and Sea Oats Trail. Please note that vehicles must display a SSCA guest parking pass on the dashboard in community parking areas.

Two dishwashers, two sinks, dual fuel range (gas range, electric oven), standalone ice maker, and a microwave that is built-in to the large island that offers seating for five. For the coffee lovers, there is a Miele coffee barista station as well as a Keurig. Adjacent to the kitchen is a walk-in pantry that ensures plenty of storage for your stay. A large sectional is centered around a mounted TV above a seasonal fireplace. Step onto any of the three decks to take in the refreshing ocean breeze, two offer views of the Atlantic and the other overlooks the pool area. The king suite on this level features ocean views, and a private bath with a walk-in shower, soaking tub, and a double vanity.
For next level views of the surrounding area, travel to the rooftop deck via stairs or elevator and enjoy elevated views of the ocean and the tree-filled area around you, and soak in the bubbling hot tub for ultimate relaxation.
