Overview
The Swell is a spacious oceanfront retreat located in South Nags Head, offering stellar ocean views, ten bedrooms, nine bathrooms (seven full baths), a rec room with a pool table, private pool with a kiddie pool inset and hot tub, two gas grills, and your own private beach walkway with dune-top seating leading straight to the sea. All bedrooms offer Smart TVs, so you can access Netflix, Hulu, etc. A bluetooth soundbar and Blu-ray player are provided in both the great room, and the rec room. A South Nags Head location at Milepost 17.5 means you'll enjoy thinner crowds than the northern beaches, while still being close to popular Outer Banks sights like the Bodie Island Lighthouse and Jennette's Pier, which offers an aquarium and seasonal programs and events. Another favorite for locals and visitors alike is Fish Heads Bar & Grill, located on the water at the Outer Banks Fishing Pier, just a mile south of The Swell.
Updates for 2025: Major refresh of the pool & pool area: new coping, inner lining, and concrete around pool.
Updates for 2024: All new front and back decks, new hot tub, and new outdoor showers.
Pool: Heated by heat pump. Ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.
Electronics: There is a cable box in the great room and ground level rec room, all other TVs have the Spectrum Wi-Fi app. Two bluetooth soundbars and two Blu-ray players are provided.

Central to the lower level of this home is a rec room with pool table that can convert to a ping-pong table, queen sleepsofa, Smart TV, Blu-ray player, and kitchenette with full refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and microwave. Bedding includes a queen with a private bath and two additional bedrooms that share a bath: a king bedroom, and a bedroom with two twin bunks and a trundle. There is a half bath off of the rec room as well. The laundry room on this level offers two washer/dryer sets. Sliders open from the rec room to the fenced-in private pool area, which features a kiddie pool inset for the mini vacationers in your group, as well as a separate hot tub and two outdoor showers. A private walkway leads you directly to the beach, where you can enjoy morning walks, shell-hunting, swimming, surfing, or just lounging under an umbrella with a good book. A cornhole game has been provided by the owners.
