Overview
Welcome to Honor, a grand oceanfront estate specifically designed for those vacationing in large groups. Guests who reserve this home are treated to a host of gathering areas for leisure and recreation, and eighteen bedroom suites, each with a flatscreen TV and a private bathroom. Professionally decorated with upscale coastal decor, this beach retreat is awash in a cheerful palette of colors and is finished with distinctive upgrades and fine furnishings. Resort-style outdoor amenities will captivate the attention of all age groups, and a private beach walkway leads to the sandy shoreline and breaking waves. This prime location in Kill Devil Hills at Milepost 8.5 offers easy access to historic sites, dining, shopping, piers, and local family recreation.
Updates for 2024: New sofa in the loft.
Pool: Saltwater pool heated by heat pump. Ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.
Please Note: The cabana and hot tub on top of the cabana will be winterized for January-February months and will not be available.
Special Events Welcome: $2,500 special event fee and $2,000 refundable security deposit required for all special events. Maximum of 75 attendees, including the guests already occupying the home. Are you reserving this home for a wedding or special event? Please contact our office to inform us of your plans. You will receive an addendum to the lease which will need to be signed and returned. Special Access Amenities: Walkway on side of home allows wheelchair access to pool area and to rear access ramp. Elevator services all levels except loft. One queen bedroom is equipped for special access including 3' doorways, 5' turn radius in bathroom, roll-under sink and shower with seat. Please note that none of our homes are ADA compliant. The ground level design blends private bedroom suites with popular amenities. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, flat screen TVs, and private bathrooms. Five are furnished with king beds and one with a queen bed. A laundry room with one washer and dryer unit is centrally located. Movie buffs can gather in a private home theater equipped with tiered theater seats for sixteen, sofa seating, projection screen TV, and wall speakers (please note that one of the 6 DVD players is a Blu-ray). Let the good times roll in the oceanfront recreation room where competitive spirits can test their skills at pool and foosball. A 4-person card table is available for adults and the youngsters will enjoy a multi-game arcade system. The mounted 60" flat screen is ideal for movies or to watch your favorite sports team. The bar provides music through ceiling speakers, bar seating for five and a sink, refrigerator with icemaker, microwave and dishwasher. A half bath is conveniently located.
Rec room doors open to sensational outdoor amenities, including a custom saltwater pool with in-pool bench and stool seating, wet deck with chairs and umbrella, and a separate kiddie pool for splashing youngsters. The pool deck is well furnished for sitting and sun lounging, and two gas grills and outdoor tables allow for informal BBQ meals under clear coastal skies. A haven from the sun can be found at the poolside gazebo furnished with a sofa and chairs. The oceanfront pool house features a bar with granite countertop and seating for seven, 60" outdoor television, sound system, sink, refrigerator with icemaker, commercial icemaker, cabana half bath, and two outdoor showers. Steps lead up to a roof top sun deck that overlooks the pool area and offers a bubbling hot tub for evening relaxation. A private beach walkway (with foot wash) leads to a shady dune observation deck that overlooks beach activities and beyond to the Atlantic. Sunbathe on sandy beaches, stroll along the shoreline and enjoy energetic play in the rolling surf.
