Overview
Welcome to Sound and Sea, a classic waterfront Carolina cottage that greets you with a lovely array of popular amenities. This home is stylishly furnished with pleasing coastal decor so guests can relax into comfort throughout their stay. Enjoy endless sound views, expansive sun and covered decks, an open great room, each bedroom having a private bath, a private pool, three kayaks and one inflatable stand-up paddle board (bring own lifejackets), a Tesla charging outlet, and more fabulous conveniences! The ocean-to-sound community of Carolina Dunes is located just over a mile north of the town of Duck where you will find a multi-use path for walking, jogging and cycling, fine dining, casual eateries, shops and boutiques and a wide variety of family fun events. This soundfront home is 514 yards to the community beach access where guests can enjoy hours of fun in the sun!
Community Note: The Town of Duck has beach equipment policies to help keep visits to the shore enjoyable and safe.
Our offices will be closed on December 25, 2026 for the Christmas Day holiday. If your 2026 lease check-in date is on Christmas Day please note that we will work to make special arrangements to alter your check-in date.

The ground level provides a cozy den with Atari arcade machine, 65" Smart TV, and wet bar with sink, icemaker, and fridge. A charming queen bedroom suite with TV and private bath complete this floor. Doors lead from the den to the outdoor amenities where guests are treated to a private pool, relaxing hot tub and a lush waterfront yard with a screened-in gazebo and firepit (bring own wood). A private pier extends into sound waters and offers shaded built-in seating. This is the ideal location to launch a kayak (the homeowner provides two single kayaks and one double kayak), try stand up paddle boarding (the homeowner provides one) or spend the afternoon catching fish for the gas grill...all from your own backyard! An outdoor charging outlet for Teslas/other compatible electric vehicles that use a 240-volt NEMA 14-50 outlet is also available, as well as a 40-amp Tesla charging cord.
Yard and pool areas sells the house, it is wonderful for a family.
Loved the sound view and the size of the bedrooms and bathrooms. Pier was great, loved the solar lights for night-time and loved the covered portion of dock. The fenced yard was wonderful for our dog. Beautiful home that I've wanted to rent for years and happy I finally did. Would rent again.
I've used Carolina Designs since I first started vacationing in outer banks 11 years ago. It's a wonderful company and the house was beautiful. We have always had wonderful houses and I would never consider using a different company
We couldn't have asked for a better rental. It was absolutely perfect!
Everything was great...only thing that would make it better is a floating dock.
This house was very enjoyable, the location is perfect!
