The Black Pelican

Serving up creative seafood dishes, steamers, wood-fired pizza, and juicy steaks, The Black Pelican is a family-friendly restaurant that is the former home to a historic Kitty Hawk lifesaving station that was built in 1874. They are open for lunch and dinner year-round and are located right on Beach Road, across the street from the ocean. For a more casual dining experience, check out their shaded oceanfront deck which offers elevated views; it’s a great place to grab an afternoon drink and an app. Inside, there are two levels of dining seating and a wrap-around bar. Without reservations, there is often a wait, so it’s best to plan ahead.
